Hi all!

I bought a set of Revolite wheels, 6J x 10 and some Yoko tyres.

Nowhere could fit the tyres to the wheels- I must have visited 8 tyre centres and garages- including some where they had managed to fit 10" tyres to other wheels. They all told me the centre cut out for the tyre bead was too far in the middle of the wheel to fit a tyre from either side.

So... I called MWS and they said they could fit the tyres. I sent them back to the with the tyres, and hey presto a week later they are back, with tyres...

Since then I have found out that to fit my tyres the heated them up to stretch them on!!!

Is this OK? I don't want to take my car out at castle coombe and the tread blocks fall off or something crazy! I don't know much about tyres- I realise they must get hot when they are being used, but I am not sure what effect heating them up to fit to a wheel would have.

Any advice would be appreciated!

im sorry to say...the problem you have is well known, its because midland wheels cant design wheels to save their life!! the problem is with the dish.

They heated my tyres up to fit them (im local and were cheapest to buy tyres for anyway) I too later found out they heated them to fit them
I had a problem with my tyres, my nice 032's which had less than 20 miles on before the car was layed up for a few months...the side walls bulged on a couple of the tyres and of course, thats not safe so ended up with useless tyres.

Balls, mine are 032's too.

The wheels weren't even much cheaper then genuine Revo's. I'm gutted!

like i say, the issue i had might have been caused by the car sitting idol for a few months...if you maybe keep the car jacked up...pain in the arse...if the wheels are new try asking for a refund if they werent significently cheaper

I had thought about that before, but that would involve getting the tyres off... which is also impossible.

As the tyres are more expensive than the wheels I was considering getting the rim machined off the wheels... but if they have killed my tyres then there is little point.

I've left my a car (far heavier than a Mini!) standing on Yoko A048 tyres for more than a few months before and they haven't had side wall issues...
