Should be able to do 80-90mph. You can only do 70mph on the road in the uk and they can easily do that so what more do you need

A 998 should be able to do around 90. I'm not saying you or the engine will like it at that speed though. Will be bloody loud.

Was gonna say that, but you can get some basic add-ons to make it a little better.

I had a 1098 head from a clubby, the inlet valve is slightyly larger (this was when 4* was avaliable) and a 1 3/4 carb (standard air box) with a cooper 3 branch manifold and exshaust.
made it feel smoother didn't give it a lot more top end and was quieter than the LCB manifold with RC40 (or varient)

Can get most of what you want cheap off the internet.

It depends on your final drive really. My City E stopped after about 75mph.

Edit: Did City E's have longer or shorter ratios than standard City's?

I had my 998 off the clock and its got a 110 speedo in it on a private road. Although their were a few things I should add to that. My engines not standard its got a 1275 head and a stage one kit on it and I think my speedo may be out a bit when it gets to the top end. I went from about 85 to 110 quicker then my car goes 0-30. It just plummeted straight to the bottom of the speedo. :)
