Hi there, i know there any alot of threds on things like this but i just cant find the information need. i currently have a 2 dial set up in my 1986 austin city e 1000. I want to fit a tachometer but i dont know how to go about this. The only thing i have found is a kit from mini spares that is mechanically driven from the camshaft but it costs nearly £300! :)

is there another way to fit one? be it mechanical or electrical?

if anyone could share there knowledge it would be great!?
cheers

when you say tacho do you mean a rev-counter?

as there should be electrical connections already in your wiring loom to put one in if that is the case! a bullet connection is a feed from the coil and a spade connection the power feed! you can use these cables to fit an electric one and could prob get a decentish one for under £50!

Buy a 3 dial dash, and the metal bracket, bolt it in, and the wiring is already there - hidden behind the dash if you can find it. One wire is green / orange, the other is white/black.
