Hi, just completed a rebuild of the brakes on my 1975 mini which i have converted to fiesta front disc calipers. I have bled the system using an easy bleed and I am confident that there is noair in the system. However, there is not a lot of pressure on the pedal which does slightly get better if it is pumped up, but then the pressure gradually drops until the pedal hits the floor. I have checked the lines and cannot see any traces of leaks. Could this be the master cylinder seals? I haven't replaced them (yet). Are the replacement seal kits any good or is it better (but hellishly more expensive) to get a new master cylinder.

Thanks

75, is that a bean can or twin master cylinder?

If its a bean can then seal kits are cheap as. If its a black banded master cylinder you're semi boned.

Hi, yes it's a bean can.

I had this idea to check the master cylinder. Can I fit a bolt into the end of the cylinder where the brake pipe goes in and tighten it. If there is still no pedal pressure, it must be the cylinder and not air. Am I right or will this not work?
