I Believe the inside piston of one of my calipers is sticking.....meaning it will not recede back into the cylinder.
What is the fix for this.
Car still drives, but after a few miles and a few brakes it will start making that awful noise.
brakes are standard 8.4"
Thanks

Strip and rebuild with new seals and pistons (if required).

Low pad material will do the same. Change your pads first and save the agro.

That's the answer I knew in the back of my mind.
However, last night after posting, I went out and fiddled around.
I removed the caliper, took out the pads and pushed both pistons in all the way.
After putting back together I took for a drive, putting the brakes to work. The piston didn't stick.
But...I do have major brake squeel from the offending corner. Typically at very low speed approaching a stop. (?)
So for now, I know I'll need to pull and go over them, I'm hoping it was a ridge of muck or grime that perhaps I cleared when pushing the piston in.
Possible?
MINI driving seaason for me will be over soon, so at that point I'll pull them offf and put kits in.

Original chromed pistons? could've just freed up a bit of rust...
If you decide to re-build I suggest to fit the newer stainless pistons, new seals (good luck, pita!) and new pads, also check the discs/rotors for wear.
I fitted new discs and pads and they squeeled for a couple of weeks when bedding in, so be patient, after that, sweet as a nut, a sweet nut, not a salted one...
I think you always need to fit new pads with discs, but can fit new pads without fitting new discs if your discs are fine. pads are pennies.
