Do you have means of charging the battery before resorting to buying a whole new one? Would save a lot of money!

If not, you could try bump starting the car or jumping it, and going for a reasonable drive to get some charge back into it, although I don't think you'll get a full battery from just that.

If you definitely want a new battery, Halfords, local motor factors, scrapyards, and even websites should be able to accommodate your needs :dontgetit:

The AA guy jump started it but it hasn't held charge, so looking likely i will need a whole new one.

Is it a specific battery, or if i was to speak to someone in Halfords about would they know?

From memory I think 025 and 063 type battery's are suited to Minis - the 063 being more powerful than the 025, although a lot of people tend to use Peugeot 306 Diesel batteries as they fit almost exactly into the battery box, and have a lot more cranking power than the Mini ones.

If you go into Halfords or another motor factor, they should be able to advise you on one. Halfords definately has a little flipchart of all different models of cars and what battery types they take in store.

The HB038 is the offical battery for the mini.

The most powerful one that fits is the HSB075.

Anything with the following codes will fit and be powerful enough:

038
063
065
075.
