Please give your topic a title that quickly describes your problem. Just putting 'Help my Mini doesn't work' is useless to anyone trying to help.

Around the side and bottom edges of the windscreen there is about half to an inch of grey misting/fogging in the glass itself (it's not condensation!!) - it's not at the top at all. Could this be water penetrating the sides of the screen from in the seals?

Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Any thoughts/advice gratefully received!

The car is a Japanese import, so has air-con - but I can't see how this would affect just the edges of the glass.

Thanks,

Oz

its usualy water creeping up into the laminate layer between the two layers of glass.

i think to sort it out you would have to take the window out, and warm it up in a warm spot for a few days for it to dry out. although i am not sure if it would work.

New glass I'm afraid, the water has got inbetween the layers of the glass and caused this, new window, new seal and chances are that the scuttle will have some rust as well.

*weeps* - I thought so! Many thanks for the advice - time to scour the internet for a new windscreen!

I'm not sure it's water related, just the screne de-laminating, very common. Screens are cheap, you may have a replacemet covered on your insurance.

It usually comes hand in hand with a rusty scuttle. The seal goes, lets water in, this rusts the scuttle and mists the screen up.

I've just ordered a new screen (plus the seal, chrome strip etc) from here: http://www.minisport.com/

I got their address from another post on this forum, so hopefully that's a recommendation...!

Good luck with fixing yours!
