i had a random though how much would it set me back to get a 1380 or a 1420 bottom end with a twin cam head

on the cheap, wrong side of £2,000. if you want it to last getting towards £4-5,000

id say more than that unless he owns a machine shop and does all the work himself. Would cost nearly that for the twin cam head conversion alone, the heads arent cheap 1st off assuming hes on about the BMW K-series head.
anyways bottom end wise, course the stroked engine is going to cost you considerably more depending if you choose steel internals as would be a good idea if your wanting decent power.

forgot about the stroking bit, old age setting in!!
can still pick heads up cheap from the states, my k1200rs head was £100 with delivery.

mind you my arrow crank was £900 and rods are about £800 so it can mount up!!

ohh that is cheap yeah, i bought and sold mine for £350 i think i was...couldnt afford to build it up for cost.

Specialist components do a deal when you buy rods and crank i believe, sounds like a right barg!!

didn't get crank and rods from them, went through med when i got a load of other bits amd bobs. saved about £150 on the crank :thumbsup:

and about £4000 for all the block work like redrilling and rethreadind most of the stud holes waterways and oilways.............stick to a KAD head much cheaper option............ :-

well sod it it can stay as a road car was going to try and get into the rallying but never mind for that price rather buy my self a lovley new 69 camaro project
