Sounds good. Are you not going to go upto 7.9" discs though? Does the Allspeed subby use mini running gear?

jammy,

i'm currently running minispares alloy 4 pots on solid 7.5" discs. have managed to get some 7.9" vented discs so can space out the calipers. thought about doing the metro turbo route but will give these a go first. will get some decent pads though that give plenty of bite!

allspeed frame uses mini top arms - the rest is custom built bottom arms and tie rods. shafts and CV's. total cost is £1599 (wince), but significantly cheaper than a z-cars kit.

Get an extended round nose front come on you know you want to  It seams nearly all conversions use clubmans.

Yea, I can see the difference in an extended round nose as well. Besides I like the Clubman look more anyway!

which front to go for has caused sleepness nights for me! ideally i wanted to keep the existing round nose. essentially i could squeeze the 16ver in but i cannot be bothered with the extra work (and power loss), also, my mini is registered as a clubman (has been reshelled), so it will be going back to its roots!

can't stand the extended fronts - too weird. clubmans look good with sportspacks and 7x13's

Woooo, good choice Maphy!!

Also, you say your aiming for 175bhp, are 2l Vaux units producing that as standard?

I think 2.0 vaux 16v's produce 150 as standard, but if you fit cams and carbs it goes to about 190 after that your into engine strip/rebuild time.

175bhp is my goal as it will have weber alpha 45mm throttle bodies and fuel injection, and a decent exhaust system. this should get a standard 2l over the 170bhp mark at least.

another pic of mini at the mo.
