The tyres included do inflate but they're not roadworthy.
Re-furbed tham last week, centre caps included.

Thanks in advance

Might be 4.5, not sure. The tyres are 165s so i thought theyd be wider than that.
Still no ideas on price?

If they are 5.5" minilites then they will be worth more as they are difficult to come by (particularly used ones), but if they are standard Roverlite 4.5"'s (as they appear) then they will be worth less as they are very common and there are a lot of them around on the 2nd hand market, mainly due to mini owners swapping to wider 12's or even 10's or 13's instead.

Also by "refurbed" do you mean that they have had a proffesional refurb or that you have rubbed them down & repainted them yourself as this will affect the value. A pro refurbed set (i.e acid dipped, reskimmed & refinished) are worth almost as much as a new set. probably around the £30+ per wheel mark. Otherwise a DIY repainted set of Rover 4.5x12's without decent tyres will be worth £15- £20 per rim max. (I suppose you might get a few extra quid, if you find someone who is specificaly looking for black set for their car!)

Oh... & I would flog the centre caps seperately if I were you, I just sold as set of four of them on ebay to a buyer in austrailia for £30 including p&p!!

Thanks for the info AVV IT!
Just had a measure and they are definately 12x5.5s.
They are a home refurb but not a quick job, took me 2 days to get them how I wanted them!
Were the 12x5.5s fitted to the late non sportpack mpi coopers?

So how much do you reckon foe the 5.5s then?

Thanks again.

No problem, I wasn't aware that Rover ever produced any other 12" minilites other than the 4.5's. I therefore always assumed that all 5.5" rims were aftermarket jobbies, but I could be wrong. They also don't look wide enough to be 5.5" in the photos. Are you sure that you are measuring the wheel diameter correctly? Wheel width is measured from inner rim to inner rim (i.e in the space that the tyre sits), if you were to measure the width from outer rim to outer rim instead then it would measure approximately 1" wider (so a 4.5" wide wheel would actually measure 5.5")...Sorry if I'm teaching you to "suck eggs" here, but it is a common mistake to measure wheel width incorrectly!

I wasn't trying to do your home refurb an injustice by the way, from the pics they are clearly a very good finish. I just meant that a pro refurb will add serious value. If you are thinking of selling them, then I personally would stick them on ebay as a buy it now for £99 and see what happens, (make sure buyers have the option of delivery by courier though, in order to get maximum chances of a sale. You can get a set of 4 wheels delivered anywhere UK mainland by courier for about £30)

I'd be very surprised if they were 5.5" wide rims.

Maybe I do need a lesson in sucking eggs then!!

They do seem to be 4.5s, I was thinking 5.5s because of the 165 tyres that are fitted.

Will take you advice and stick them on eBay I think.

Cheers

I may be wrong here, but thats not how you measure rim width.

Its the inside measurement thats the width not the outer one that you've pictured.

You are quite correct, you do measure wheel width between the inner edges & not as Lukie-J has pictured. I think the photo is demonstrating how he measured them to arrive at the figure of 5.5" in error!

I'm not so sure, yes a set of minilites with decent tyres will fetch £100+ easily, but this particular set are effectively just rims & similar can be bought new from around £45ish per item. Also they are finished in black which won't appeal to as many people as the standard silver items. True enough they could fetch £125 or even more if you get a couple of bidders who really want them, but equally you might not get much for them either so it's a bit of a gamble. A couple of months back, I only managed to get £100 for a decent set of 5 of these in Silver.
