This is always the problem with using any type of outdoor cover, you always run the risk of problems caused by condensation and contact between the paint surface and the fabric. I'm of the belief that if you don't have a garage for storage then the best type of cover that you can get for any car is it's paintwork and even that can be best protected by regular waxing and routine maintenance. After all corrosion largely occurs from underneath and as a result of water, salt and dirt being sprayed up into the cars various rust traps whilst the car is moving. A car that is stationary is mainly only subjected to rain water from above, therefore isn't all that vulnerable. It is probably better to concentrate on protecting the interior from damage from sunlight exposure instead, using seat covers window film/tint etc. Of course other people will have very different opinions on this, I'm sure!

As far as I know it's original it's code matches the colour yes it does have lots of micro blisters but the photos don't rele show the damage it's like some one has poured bleach on my wing and roof I'm using a heavy duty soft lined Argos cover it seems that the train has got under the laquer and watered down the paint ? There are finger prints on the faded area that are un affected ????!!!!

Was it this car cover? Argos Havey Duty Car Cover This is the cover my father in law bought and exactly the same effect happened to the roof of his car. It looks like clouding / moisture underneath the lacquer.

It says in the description of that car cover:

'Not suitable for use on vintage/classic cars or cars of more than 20 years old'

It also doesn't mention that its breathable - Which is what you need with a car cover to allow air movement and condensation to evaporate.

Whys that?

If you buy a decent cover which is waterproof but breathable with a soft lining - What do you think is bad about that?

Having any material permanently touching your car will trap moisture, no matter how expensive it was!

My worry is my bf's 205 has had the same cover on it since someone crashed into it a couple of weeks ago :(

It'll probably be written off in which case it won't matter but if it gets repaired he won't want a flat spot on the roof!!
