how should a 1985 mini city E dashboard look?
i have towo white clock dont no if they r original?

I had a city e on an 82 plate years ago and that had the centre binacle, the later one i think has the same clocks as pictured above and the white dials will most certainly be an add on later down the line (aftermarket mod) the speedo you have should be a 90mph speedo.

my '85 City E had a single centre speedo and fuel guage. No fancy dash or surrounds. Gauges where black; as was the pod.

IIRC thats how they all were - it wasn't until later that they had the offset clock.

However, it was a common conversion at the time - usually using gauges from old scrapped clubmans.

i'm sure i read somewhere that it was around this time that they started to change from center to offset clocks and so both options were avaliable.

Just found this on the forum but sure i read it somewhere else either on the net or minimag/world

if the car originally had a centre binacle it wouldnt have a top dash rail so, if your car dosent have a top dash rail you should have the centre binacle as standard. if you have a top dash rail then the clocks you have are the correct ones.
