so i have been thinking, wouldnt it be nice to have a pipe bender so i can bend small pipes possibly for a custom chopper project.

i had a look on ebay and they cost about 400 pounds! however i thought maybe i can make one, i just need some sort of hydrolic system and then i thought about those halfords bottle jacks for about £20

+ a steel jig for about a £10 =

it will work to bend pipe but to build a "custom chopper", u need to bend tube, so for bending tube it won't work

want is the differents between a pipe and a tube?
one is measured on the inside and the other is measured from the outside
and those pipe bender won't bend thick enuff metal to build a custom chopper frame out of anyways

from what i understand is that if you don't bend the right size tubes or pipes for the dies, u'll problably end up braking them and it will
probably put flat spots in the bend of the metal

the pipe bender will work fine for pipe, but i wouldn't use it for frame work on a "chopper"
