Has anyone got any pictures of their minis with roof racks on? I'm particularly looking at the monte carlo style racks - how do they fix onto the roof? and has anyone got any close-ups of the brackets?

Nice, so how do you fit them? do they lock or bolt in place or do the brackets just hook on?

the rubber feet sit on the roof,

there are 2 clips, one either side,

the top just hooks over the roof rack, the bottom sits round the rain gutter with with another little peice to clamp it in place,
ill get some cloe up photos tomorrow if u like

Where can you buy replacement rubber feet?

I've got an old rack of a moggy minor, but it came with a few odd fitting feet.

I've got 4 dents on the roof of the min where a roof rack was fitted before I had it.

What stops the roof from denting? Or could it be that is was just a badly fitted roof rack?

I've not fitted one since because I've been worried about doing more damage.

Dan.

Thanks guys, I was thinking about making my own, because used monte carlo style racks are pretty rare and are a fortune on ebay!

Just need to get the fixing sorted out, I wouldn't want to waste all that time and effort making a roof rack for it to fall off doing 70mph on the motorway haha

There should be plenty of mini suitable roof rack out there (ebay, markets etc). Anything which has brackets which fit a roof gutter.

I think I bought mine for 25 quid , it was originally fitted to some old Volvo!

A tube of autoglym and some wood and -
