me and my missis are into the "urbex" scene and found this on 28dayslater,

i havnt been on this explore myself so know little about it but you can read what the guys who found it have to say for yourselves.

http://www.28dayslat...ead.php?t=53946

i think that now its out in the open that the car is there, something should be done to have it taken out and either put in a museum as is (gaydon maybe) or allowed to go to auction to go to a good home for full resto.

i think despite its poor state and loads of parts missing its still worth doing as theoretically you can argue that this is the last mini that will ever leave the longbrige site??

i was considering getting in touch with the mags to try to drum up some interest and support, so come on, lets get it saved!!

great find was good to see the pictures and it wont have been registered but surely it could be registered when it had been restored??? its a shame if it just got scrapped as it would have been the last mini to leave longbridge plus probably the latest mini ever to be registered

i know that others have been down there a long time ago, but check the date, that was only a few weeks ago! the security they are talking about was fpr the popes visit.

just because it hasnt been registered it doesnt mean that it cant be registered with an age related plate

and as for its value, i think potentially it could be worth allot finished, i think it should be restored and kept un registered, its a museum piece!

To restore that would be a shame, I'd preserve it as it is. The cars a legand enough in itself.

Haha good luck to anyone wanting to restore that, not sure if anyone's noticed, but there's a bit of damage to the roof. It looks like it was a complete car, must have fallen off the production line or been in some kind of accident, you can see all the parts have been removed apart from those damaged. It's never seen the road anyway going by how clean it is under the arches. There must still be remaining Longbridge workers that could tell it's story.

It should definitely be saved, a museum piece for sure.

Quote from MCR forum on this 1275GT:
"My father in law worked at longbridge years ago for a long time, i showed him the mini pic and he remembered it, he said it fell off the conveyer so they just dragged it out of the way. He also told me that this particular car would have been built to the stage it was at in the pic at castle bromwich as it is already painted and has a rear subframe fitted."

urbex is indeed super cool and its a mega buzz when your on an explore, we went to one site that was massive and it was so quiet there, very apocaliptic!

glad some of you are liking 28DL.

thats the attitude panelbeaterpeter, i think it should be dug out for sure, and i agree i bet plenty guys from longbride will know the story on it.

i believe its true that there were tons of cars down there previously and allot of working prototype cars, but a big fire took the whole lot (back when the factory was still up and running)
