i suppose one way would be to say you have to put your name down by a certain date so you know the numbers then also give a date that they must pay by but then once again its if people dont pay up the price will go up. it was just an idea but thinking about it a bit more it might not work and sounds as if you have already thought about this already aswell
Yeah already crossed my mind - but that's why I've created this topic to get the ideas of others, fingers crossed something comes up.
I was thinking of once I have a few costs for say runs of 50, working out a price and set up a 'deposit' payment - which is none-refundable. That was if we get 50 great, if we get 30 we charge a little more to make up the difference - it's a none-refundable deposit though and people will moan if the calendar doubles in price. So can't really ask for it.
thats fair enough but the only reason i have a calender is because it was free with something i would have brought anyway,
i never use calenders, in the traditional sense not since i can sync my phone the calender on my laptop.
i dont even think ive changed the month on my proper calender since july.
if you made a big poster with the 12 winners on it, that people could put up in their garages that might work??
or the same idea as a student wall calender with the 12 winners in the back ground with the calender (a 12 month one) printed over the top??
hope they make sense?
Maker perfect sense - and all good points, but the bigger the printing the bigger the cost. A high quality A2/A1 wall calendar will be £20+ for the numbers we are talking about.
It's tricky isn't it. I'm just thinking that maybe you could try to get some idea of numbers, even if it's just a rough idea. So, say you asked who is intending to definitely buy, then even if you halve it and assume 50% drop out, it gives you a start?
I, for one, know for sure that I will be buying one, provided they are under £12.
Also something that has crossed my mind and was actually going to do after this thread

you would hope that half the people who put there name down actually wanted one - but it's still risky.
