Hey. Im having trouble with my 89 mini city.
Ive just put a new clutch on, (verto as it was) however after bleeding the clutch and altering the throw, I only seem to have half a clutch depression.
Does anybody know what this could be?

is it at all possible i put the thrust sleeve on back to front?

and is the throw out stop supposed to be in contact with the clutch cover when fully depressed?

thanks alot if you can help!
Ryan

you have got the arm assembled into the plunger correctly? there is one hole going through the plunger, but one side has a large "recess" to allow the arm to move properly. that side should be up.

if not, you may have assembled the release bearing incorrectly, or something a bit more major.

that looks like your release arm is bent as a nine bob note.

looked at the recess and its facing the right way up. also checked the arm itself and its not bent (just the photo i guess)

we havent yet started the engine since replacing the clutch. this wouldnt have an effect would it? and is the throw out stop meant to be in contact with the clutch cover when clutch is fully depressed?

---SOLVED---

Ok solved the problem. this is for anybody who has a similar problem.
What was wrong was the release arm was excessively worn aswell as the pin that allows it to move. just chenged them both and job done.
heres a pic of the wear.
