Hi, i got rid of my mini about a month ago now and i cant really afford another so iv decided i want my next car to be a ....

Volvo 480 Turbo

unfortunately they are quite rare and all the ones iv found on the internet (4) are just not right (rusty arches - no MOT etc)

they are easily tunable, i think cool and have lots of gadgets and can be had for not much money.

so what i ask is that if you come across any in your local area or in local papers etc, just to let me know - they may even be a pack of hobnobs in it for you :)

thanks, Mike.

that the 1.7 one?? does it need to be turbo?? the turbo only gave a few extra hp and the 1.7 was roughly the same as the 2.0 power wise

good news is they do tune up nicely and can hit 230 bhp with a t28 turbo.
i've run 1 of these engines in my renault 5 turbo and will be doing again in my mk1 clio
if you need any help or want to look at the engine any time the kettle is usually on :D

i do really want a turbo so i can get a "richmod" which will put power up to 170bhp :D

that one on ebay is overpriced for what it is - he did have it at auction for 450 starting bid and know one bid.

there's a guy on the rtoc website that will modify the ecu's for you instead of the richmod. it'll allow the engine to run more boost :D

To be fair my mate had one. They are a nice lotus old type shape with a high electric spec. His was quite new and always in the dealers for mends he sold it fast and lost loads on it.Volvo make some great cars but not that one.Think i would look at a few Audis as well no rot and well made. :D

I understand that they are not exactly well made but we are speaking on a mini forum and nobody can say they are the best made cars in the world :D

i dont like audi's they are expensive and do nothing for me, plus i see them all the time with serious lacquer peel and paint fade.

Mike.

p.s cheers for the links, iv had a look at carandclassic but no turbos on their, and ill give that volvo specialist a ring on monday, thanks.!
