have 1275 a+ with a h.i.f 44 from a late metro, i have just brought a12g1805 head my question is, which would be better a jetted h.i.f 44 or twin 1.25s thanks max

the single h.i.f. 44 will be more than adequate, and it will be easier to set up than the twins

Twin carbs are a nightmare, they go out of balance so quickly, you spend all your time tryin to keep them set up.
Its a big misconception about twin carbs anyway because the engine is only ever drawing fuel in one cylinder at a time, therefore only needing one carb. The only good thing about twin carbs is that the fuel is drawn in a straight line instead of round the curve of the single carb manifold.
A single HIF44 can give almost the same preformance as a Weber when its set up properly, at half the fuel expense!

thats nice to hear as iv got my HIF 44 running nicly now, did have a sticky mixture screw so massivly over fueled! its quite nice now though
