As the above title and topic description states, im putting in a order with Frost for some bits and peices, which will include the following:
Marine Clean (946ml, US Quart)
BLACK POR-15 Six Pack Rust Preventative Paint
POR-15 Solvent (946ml)
Metal Ready (3.78 litres, US G)
Going to be addressing the underside on my bare shell when this lot arrives as well as the boot floor. Also thought about putting some POR-15 anywhere a rubber seal sits as this seems to be where some of my rust has started.
So....do Frost offer anything else that would assist me in my restoration?
Suggestions and ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance,
- Rich

http://www.frost.co....pro...x (500ml)
http://www.frost.co....pro...(1 litre)
you'll need a gun for the last one, but i don't know if you have a compressor...

Cheers for that matey, ill add that lot to my list.
Just a question about that schlutz (sp?) stuff, would I apply that after the por15 or can I paint por15 over it without a reaction?
Thanks again,
- Rich
And yes iv got a compressor!

it might need a key, but the schutz will go over the top no problem. the other way... not sure. ask frost, they know their products more than most.
they also do the gun for the schutz so...

Normally with Tetra Schultz you can paint over it with no problems, however you do need to give it sufficient time to cure before painting. You can if you want thin it down with some white spirit to give a thinner finer finish.
I tried this out in the past to replicate a finish on my old RS2000 and it worked a treat although i did have to wait a bit longer for curing.
For reactions with POR i would suggest painting some on some spare metal then spray the Schultz on to see what happens and also some on the Schultz.
I have sprayed over Hammerite with Tetra Schultz with no adverse reaction so i would like to think POR would be fine as they are similar.
Also before you apply it try putting the tin in hot water for ten mins as this will help it to flow better.
