basically my mini has a non standard fuel tank, and the fuel gauge is funny, if i fill it up, the needle goes right up past the full bit, so far that i cant see it, then eventually it will drop down, to the middle, which i learnt the hard way, is empty :- , but the problem is, once the needle becomes visible and it starts dropping i have the best part of 5 miles at the most to get fuel, not good!

So is there a way of recalibrating the gauge or sender? Like adding a resistor or something? I have also tried another sender which i know is good, and it made no difference. Or shall i just keep carrying a spare 10 litres of fuel in the boot, which obviously id rather not do.

Thanks, sam
