hiya think i have oil in the petrol im quessing this is wroung and have been told it may be the fuel pump is this correct ???

I had the same problem on mine and it was the fuel pump the oil was so thin it peed out of the clutch housing ,and clutch slipped like crazy very dangerous to drive the car like it you could granade your motor

ok so fuel pump should i get a new one or just get a second hand one ???

If it was me, I'd replace it with an electric one.

Much more reliable, and has no dependency on the engine.

how much more expensive are they and whats the ads n disads ??

Depending on which fuel pump you get, the electric ones can be anywhere from £10 more than a mech up to £50 more.

I don't think there are any disadvantages to having an electric fuel pump over mech.

thanks i dont have much money as mo and the normal one being only 15 think im gonna have to go with that as its all i can afford whats the ads of the electric pump ???

It will only cost ya, a fuel pump (best to stick with what there) 2 gaskets, maybe some fuel hose clips if they’re crusty and an oil change.

If oil getting on the clutch to cause it to slip, it sounds like the primary gear seal behind the flywheel has failed.

Well, they're more reliable IMO, the mech one will be fine for a standard engine, and if its a new one, should last ages anyway.
They can provide a better fuel supply too, but probably only needed for more tuned applications.

So yeah, if you budget limited, the mech one will be fine.

yh im keeping it stadard apart from the stage 1 kit already on it next year will be fitting a 1275 so should be fine
