Hi everyone,
My son (15) has just purchased a 1961 restoration project. We now have it back home in the garage and work has commenced.
It all seems a bit daunting looking at this bare shell, needing some new panels and a lot of welding.
So onward we go and it takes me back to my very first car, a 1959 Austin 7, long since gone...........
Looking forward to meeting you all in the forums.

Welcome but be careful.
I did the same with my son! started a project with a 91 cooper, then found out how much it was going to cost on insurance when he reached driving age and had two weeks to build another car in time for his birthday.
This was achieved just in the nick of time and left us with a full blown race spec car with nowhere to go!
I called my insurance company to quote me on it and at 14 quid a month, i decided that the 4 litre jeep just had to go!
almost a year later, we have 5 mini's in various stages of build, two on the road, one almost complete, just waiting for MOT, one rolling shell ready for paint and build, and the last one a bare shell with just a couple of patches to finish welding.
So, be afraid, be very afraid. Dont drive it or you will end up like me, too many cars, no spare time and an empty wallet.
