Looks absolutely amazing.  You have put a great deal of effort into your wee mini and it has paid off!  You should be very proud of yourself :)

project revival, after a few years of life getting in the way, engagement and buying a house etc ive not got my own garage and with all this coronavirus lockdown being upon us i thought it would be a good idea to crack back on with the mini. So the plan is to change the car back to mk3, de mk1 the whole car, the rear lights, bootlid and doors and also put the rear bumper back on and stick a turbo lump in it  :proud:

The paint i had specially mixed to match the original colour was either mixed or misold to me and in fact needed hardner and was not cellulose, not quite sure which however it was always abit soft and would get even softer in the heat. last summer we stripped all the old paint of the mini and i resprayed the inside with 2pac paint. I have also got a metro turbo engine so the car now has a turbo box in the engine bay. The gearbox has been rebuilt and i have a x pin diff in it and the engine is apart and ready for a rebuild. Not going for huge amounts of power around the 120-130bhp mark, using a small intercooler and water injection to keep temps down.

Anyway until the engine is done or i have enough money to do it i have a hot little 998 to go in, 12g295 head evo 001 cam and lightweight flywheel. I have managed to convert the rear end back and have completed the drivers door conversion back to std.

will post pics shortly

I remember seeing this little car in its mk1 form at many shows over the years, I like the plan going back to the mk3 look its coming together really well.

since i have alot of time off im cracking on with the mini, quick garage tidy and ive prepped and sprayed front end in primer, primed and top coated the engine bay and prepped and primed the bootlid and the bonnet, as i had previously cut off the bonnet lip to convert to mk1 i had to mock up grille to line up the trim which had to go on the bonnet, ive placed a minispares order for new doorskins and door bottom repair panels, when they come i will be repairing and skinning the doors and then prepping them for paint, hoping to spray colour on the car end of next week depending on delivery'sreceived-254343719034070.jpgreceived-224254638895559.jpg

Been busy with the mini, managed to prep and prime the rear end, boot and bonnet and also paint the engine bay. minispares order also turned up with my lightweight ally door skins and bits to repair the doors.

so the mini is painted and i managed to change the door skins and take some more weight out of the door and saved 4.1 kgs per door, unlike minispares state the skins only save 3.7kgs at most not the 4kgs they say they do. however they do make a huge difference and im happy with an 8.2kg saving, with the garage nice and warm and with a few hiccups eventually paint setup and mixture was perfect and i managed to get a really good finish out of the gun, 2 coats of filler primer and 3 coats of top coat later i have a lovely shiny and thick looking paint job

Just read your whole thread over the last couple of days, ending was a shock!

What made you decide to put it back to original as quite a few are going for the Mk1 look?

And sorry if I missed it but what make wheels are they?

Looks great in yellow by the way, love it
