Hey,

Just wondered if anyone has fitted the K&N Spi Induction kit? I've got the Cooper works tunning but from what I can gather the standard airbox is very restrictive so was thinking of changing to the induction kit. If you have fitted it, was it worth it? and does it sound good?

Doesnt make much noise really, looks nice and shiny under the bonnet though. Piece of *yellow human water* to fit. The plastic tubing was ******* though and not worth bothering with, it melted

Just to resurrect this thread....I fitted a K&N 57i to our SPi today (not the element filter) and it makes the car sound fantastic! A super sweet induction note from it. The car feels faster, but that is probably the increased noise, however can't really be sure.

I would recommend this to anyone. Piece of pi$$ to fit also!

The only thing that has been anoying me with the K&N is the now very audiable clack that the injector makes, its hypnotic at best and torture at worst. not so bad if I floor it every where as the 2" exhaust usualy drouns it out ;)

Not noticed that with ours....do they usually make that sort of noise?

I think quite a lot of people have fitted the K&N 57i. I know that was the first thing i did. Id say most spi or mpi owners have done that. Did you not search for it on here?

I did, but this was the only post I found with "spi and k&n" in it

Yes its normal. It can best be described as that tappet noise that you can never sort no matter how much you adjust your rockers, or adjust this or that. Its just about audiable with the bonnet up at idle, more so with the filter off. It starts off with gusto around 2500rpm as a constant rattle when cruising. Nothing you can do about it, its the mechanics of how an injector works.

Admittedly I dont have any sound deadening in the car so its just that little worse. :dontgetit:
