better design, better echonomy, and most responsiveness to tuning....thank you what can i expect to gain from it
thats compared to the hs4...
Anything else will be too big for the 998 unless highly tuned

Power is produced by the engine and if the engine is consuming as much air as possible and the carb is set up right, fitting a bigger carb will do nothing.
Modifying the engine, causing it to consume more air may eventualy result in the carb choking the engine preventing it from consuming the maximum air that it possibly could and therefore limiting power

A carb does not produce power
Ermmm.... it is the major component which provides the correct fuel/air mix ???
much like the human body... you breath and eat to produce power, remove either of them you die...

Has every one realy forgot that the whole reason you fit an LCB, highflow air filter, big valve gas flowed head and long duration cams, is to enable the engine to consume more air and as it does so, requires a bigger carb to ensure that it is not the restricting factor and to provide correct fuel/ air mixtures. Even then, when at this state of tune whith the correct carb, set up, fitting an even bigger carb will not produce any more power.
So explain how the carb produces power

Going back to the original question " What Carb is best to get best BHP from a a+ seires engine " It realy does not matter as long as it provides the right amount of air and fuel in the correct proportions that the engine can consume irrespective of Webber Su or injection, fuel economy however will suffer depending on what you choose to run. And considering that its a fairly standard 998 then the HIF is the carb as its the right size and farb better on fuel economy.
I'll say it again, A carb does not produce power but rather restrict it

Any more speed and the gearstick will probaby come out of its place!

A HIF 44 on a standard 998 will not give the engine any more power
An where above has anyone suggested he put an HIF44 on his 998 ???
And as for what produces power, you are well aware that no one part of the entire engine makes the power, it's a combination of the all the parts...
But, as we maintain, an HIF38 is THE best carb for a 998 in std/stage 1 tune as it provides the band of tuning capabilities for that particular combination of parts... not only from a tuning point of view but also maintenance and reliability...
Why complicate matters ?
