Hello people ive had an eventfull day today, when for a day out with the G.f to becon fell, it was a nice day and a nice walk round the forist.

However on the way round the one way system just coming off at the junction, I hit a large deep pot hole and then a second smaller one bang and managed to get it down the steep entrence where it widens to become two way and it decided it wanted to go into the grass virge.

Not to much damage, the body works fine got abit off mud on it few scrapes. Wheels hanging off held on my bottem ball joint and track rod end,and the brake flexy which it thinks started to leak from caliper .

Think the first pot hole riped the tie rod off the second sheared the top Ball joint.

Luckly got recoverd on insurance so its now sat out side leaning to one side, got to get some bits for it see if i can get them from uni part at work tomoro.

Shame would have got some pics but phone died after ringing for recovery.

morrel of the story Dont hit pot holes!

Any one got a ajustable tie rod spare think mines got no threads now

theres a thread that goes into depth on this.

get some photos of the damage and the pot hole in question as you can claim the expenses.

i think you have to contact the council, hopefully someone else will find the thread i mentioned above.

Just like every other apathetic *******.
If you don't do anything, no one else will either; get some pictures, send them off to the council and even if they don't pay for the repairs at least they will be aware of it.
If you don't get a reply then send the pictures again with a snotty letter.

You'll only get results if you actually put in a little effort.

theres no need to go name calling if the kid doesn't want to say anything to the council thats his own decision i probably wouldn't say anything either because it will be more effort than its worth and i would just want to get it sorted as soon as possible

Fair play i dont mind about your opiniyon dave im not apathetic, just a busiy person and would rather do what maggies minder said just get it fixed.

And i dont think the road is owned by the council any way as its a one way system on a country park, how ever i did notify the ranger at becon fell.

I stand by my comment and think it was a fair point to make.
Shame about the tie rod and ball joint but go and do something about it so it doesn't happen to anyone else or even to you again.
If you live a good hour or so away, then yeah, OK, it will be a major inconvenience to go back there for pictures if you have a busy life. If not; then, to be honest, that's apathy.

I don't think it was name calling or whatever else I was supposedly reported for. I also thought that this was a forum for adults.

its not an adult forum though its a family forum so things like people getting called an 'apethetic *******' shouldnt happen even if it was an adult forum things like that still shouldn't be said there is no need for it.
if he does go try to do something about it then that means that money that could go towards fixing all the pot holes in the roads will be going to people rather than fixing the roads so as long as people keep trying to get money out of them the roads arent going to get sorted because there wont be enough money to sort them because its all going to people who want there cars fixing because of the pot holes thats why i wouldnt try to claim and also because i would go sort the car out myself within a few days and then im sure they wouldnt pay up because i have just done it myself
