I'm trying to find a place to buy a SHORT Gear Lever Retainer Pin, my local mini dealer (somerford minis) are out of stock and have no idea when they will be back in. mini sport dont seem to stock short or long that i can see and mini spares, stock long, give a part number for the short one in the discription of the long pin, but searching for the number brings up nothing!
is there a reason why it's so hard to track one down??
If someone could point me in the right direction it would be much appriciated!
Thanks,
Matt

Are you talking about the roll pin that connects the rod to the diff?.......or the pin inside the shifter holding the rod?.....in either case I believe they are the same diameter 7/32" If you find a longer pin of that diameter you can simply cut it down in length.
Thanks for the speedy reply! It's the pin inside the shifter, stopping the lever rotating (one goes through either side of the retaining cup and into a groove on the lever). i thought maybe they just stopped making the short one, because the long one can be cut down to size. Thanks again.

Dan, i tried moss as well but they same problem as spares, they list both pins but next to the short one it is listed as NLS, which i guess means no long sold.
I'm assuming there must be a reason for it being so hard to get hold of! maybe it was too expensive to manufacture both long and short pins, so they now just manufacture the long one, as it can be cut down to size by the consumer!
