Hi
I am wanting to change my 10" standard wheels to 12 inch alloys with black group 2 arches.
Can i just simply bolt on the 12" and take off the 10s?
Will it go on with the drum brakes?
Daft question...but hey!

yup, just bolt them on, but you may not need the grp2's as the wheels may still stay under the arches... Depends realy on the offset of the wheel you choose...
See FAQ on wheels on how to size the wheel

Ye same thing on me Landy! Changed the wheels and tyres to 750's and when the speedo reads 50...Youre going 55! yay Quite impressive for a 1972 Land Rover series 3 shortwheel base!
also the mileometer is affected counting les miles

I used that table and it basically told me that... changing from 10's to 12's will SHOW a faster reading.
For example... with 10's it was 37mph, in second gear at 4000rpm.
... with 12's it was 39mph, in second gear at 4000rpm.
So am I right in thinking that a speed camera isn't going to catch you out, because your speedo reads wrong? As it SHOWS your going faster than you actually are?
As I thought it was the other way round, that it shows your going slower than you actually are...

Your actually travelling faster on 12"s, but the speedo is still calibrated for 10"s. So it reads slower.

It is best that you get your speedo re-calibrated to the 12" wheels.
It is correct that when your speedo reds 30mph you are actually going about 35mph, so slow down for the speed cameras! In some cases your insurance wont be happy!

You seen how much it is to have your speedo re-calibrated?
About 40 sodding quid! Really wanted to keep the centre speedo too

Im sure that you can still keep the centre speedo just get that re calibrated - think of it this way take a risk with speed limits £120 fine maybe? £60?
Whereas you can spend £40 on geting the speedo calibrated, then you dont have to worry as much about your speed.
The police will not take it as an excuse that your speedo reads wrong they will probably say its an MOT failure.
