Good point, I'm not sure about the 'carbon fibre look' vinyl wrap around. :/

This is the second one they've done, the first time they did it they restored a MK1 and kept it original.

Love it how they replace an engine or something and go "parts £400" total build price £1200 so that leaves £800 in our budget.. your like 'maaaaate!' any garage would have charged you £800 for what Edd has done, shut up!

On the green Mk.1 the boot handle was 90 degrees out of alignment, the A-panel repairs were a 'bodge', the engine was painted the wrong colour - black, should have been bronze green. There were other issues too. It was far from an original Mk.1.

Quality... Half an A panel :D and then degrease and paint the engine 'after' the respray.

The idiots guide to mini restoration... I laughed all the way through.

I laughed and shouted at the TV all the way through. I especially liked the bit at the end when he was talking to the buyer, "...and it's had a back to metal, full respray..." Has it b**l*#ks! I didn't even see any rust killer/preventer anywhere near the car.
Did anyone else notice the state of the passenger scuttle before they 'restored'(cough, cough) it? And what was with the presenter saying they have subframes that get holes in them and start proding the sills? What a numpty!

The door full of filler on the mk1! Why didn't they just replace the doorskin? That presenter has no idea what he's on about...

That's exactly what I was shouting at the TV! Would have been a much better way to do it.

Just think, how do you think the guy who bought it felt when he watched the programme back after he'd already bought it. Gutted.
