3 ways you can do it...

plates will be needed in all four corners in each case...

you would weld the plates on if your in a permanent mood... although i wouldnt advice this...
you can drill through the guttering round the edge and rivet the plates on...
or my personal favorite as i find rivets a tad shonky, is to drill the guttering and bolt the plate on with stainless fixings...

then simply drill the plate and bonnet for fitment of the pin... the pin shown in the picture is a generic design used by most companies... just go for a good quality stainless set to stop any nasty rust forming...

i havent got any pictures of the plates in situe but hopefully someone will oblige...

I too am about to fit bonnet pins and looking through previous threads the best and most preferred way is welding in some plates. This is for a number of reasons:
Most permanent
Looks neat
They do not come loose
If bolting or riviting there are dissimilar metals touching which causes rust. The only way to get around this is by having some kind of insulation between the metals.
By using any of the above options you will have to paint anyway so why not do it write the first time.

Hope this helps make your mind up.

Cheers hutch

As above really. Mine are riveted on. The metal used as pretty thin though so does flex and bend a bit. I'm gonna get some thicker stuff and then weld it on.

Big thanks to all who have replied, the pics and descriptions are excellent

One more question, can i just fit the front pins and use the rear hinges still? if i do this is there enough clearance to get the bonnet over the pins?
