i have just picked up a set of 6x10 ultralites, and a set off yoko a008s from 2 different mates,

the problem is i took them to my local tyre place who i have used through work many times, however this time they said it may be tricky but jumped right in and had a go anyway, less than 15 seconds later and the tyre bead had 2 lovely rips in!

the one tyre fitter said "that will still seal mate" but im not so sure myself!

anyway i took them all away and went to the next place, they also agreed that they would be hard too, and i offered them the now damaged tyre and a wheel, no joy either, but i was glad they didnt just go mad at it like the first guys!

so now where do i try? im going to try kingswinford tyres in the morning, but then i dunno who if they cant do it???

any recomendations in the black country?????

i dont want to end up with 4 scrap tyres and scratched brand new rims!

Do it yourself - lots of swarfega on the rims and beads!! Most wheels you fit the tyres over the back rim - but it's possible these ones are fitted from the front. Worth a try.

just done some looking around on the net and it seems tons of folks are having this problem with getting tyres on these rims.

it is down to the "well" in the wheel being bang in the middle of the rim. most folks are saying only MWS can fit the tyres, and i have read a few people have comlained that they have purchased new sets of wheels and tyres from them and have found the tyres to be damaged already!!!!

this is not looking good for getting them fitted tomorrow is it?

anyone else had this problem?

can i take a wild guess and say these wheels are made by midland wheels?
had great fun with the wheels myself...ended up selling the rims instead and referbing some revos i had :D inferior designed wheel well means you cant easily sink the oposing tyre side while sliding the wall over the rim

edit, bum... uv already said this already ;)

have just been up to see one of my pals about this (bit late i know but its bugging me) he has agreed that the wheels are fundamentally flawed.

i cant afford to scrap another tyre trying to get it fitted, im going to pop to minisparesd and minits tomorrow and see what they have to offer as equivalents (and check out the position of the well in the rim as this is whats obviously causing the problems.

looks like putting them on ebay and buying some others,

HUGELY ANNOYED AT MWS FOR THIS!

the problem is MWS isnt open on saturdays (as they told me on thursaday) plus minits is only half an hour away from me and mws is a good way over from my way.

however, i got my old man to pop over for me today, which kinda adds insult to injury as he didnt really want to go but bless him off he went anyway!

wheels were brand new today, so yes still have the invoice!

i will just slap them on ebay i think, one wheel got scuffed today with all the faffing about so im going to refurb it first.

all i wanted was my new shiney rims? i dont even know why now, i like the ones i already have!

Don't put 'em on ebay you're only going to cause someone else the same problems as you're having. This seems to be a common problem with MWS wheels and considering that I see no reason that they shouldn't give you a refund.

I'm surprised MWS are still selling these. The factory redesigned these over 2 years ago and put the well offset. We've been selling the 'new' ones since and are very happy with them.

There is another thread running about this here:
