HAHA don't worry Craig she will be back on the road before much longer and will be at the IMM 2014 in Kent! This time just faster less rusty and with a paint job I can actually polish ha!

Dont worry. I have plenty of plans for this as well. Went for a Euro look with the clubby. I want a slightly more old school/california/hod rod ish look with this a bit like you see on some beetles. Got some hard to find parts and a few parts off other cars to go on. Time will reveal all!

Need some help. Decided I want to keep the seats that came with the car when I bought her as they are so comfy. I'll get them re trimmed but I'm unsure of what colour. Thinking brown. Or maybe red tartan centers with black edges. Or tweed? Opinions or ideas welcome. Some pics would be great.

yeah maybe like a grey/dark tartan or tartan like the mk5 golf gti or even the old rainbow style like the mk2 gti !!

Think I'm gonna go for brown now. Give it an old school look. Just need to contact some company to get some sample material and some quotes.

Well I don't want to go retro rally or mk1 want to be really as its over done. But I would just like to give it old school/California look. Using as many old parts and old colours as possible with nice shiny chrome bits. Either off minis or other old car which I can mod to fit. I have got a few rather nice bits off some innocenti minis which I will fit. I don't plan on using this car everyday but would love to take it on a few road trips abroad and do a few foreign IMM's in it so I want to keep it more practical and comfy then the clubby. Hence the choice to swap the buckets to standard seats.


Same reason I'm not going mega crazy with the engine. So I can still use it practically but if I find my self on a race track I'll have a bit of power to have some fun.

sounds good man i like the fact that you do things different.. to many rally reps/mk1 reps and no offense meant to those minis but id prefer to see a mini like the ones you create they always make for an awesome build thread !!

Yea I mean there are some lovely mk1 rally reps on here that look the nads and that the owners should be proud of. I had gone for something like that myself when I had it on the road but now fancy just doing something else with it.
