Right well I have not been updating this. Weather has been nice and i have been doing odd bits. In-between working lots of over time for IMM spending money and getting myself a new job which I start in a few weeks haha. I have been doing bits.

I got the head back from mini speed that had the snapped stud in. They threaded the heater outlet hole as a fix which although may not be the best looking it works so that will do! Gasket for the oil filter housing turned up too so I got the engine back together.

Bought and fitted a water temp gauge. Need a oil pressure one next!

Today myself, Ross and Rusty spent most the afternoon, evening and a bit of the night doing odd jobs on the car. Finishing a few jobs and just tightening some bits. So nothing exciting and nothing worth photographing but a massive step closer to being on the road. We also made a start at fitting the exhaust but it got too dark too see what we were doing.

I think thats it for now. I am sure I have missed something haha.

Cheers.

Right few bits done today with Ross!

Got the hose thing for the bulk head fitted.

10494654_10153106409164848_3367258549136

Coil bracket on.

10375084_10153106409289848_8895083575806

I also got some hand brake quadrants.

10501904_10153106409444848_1122001444388

and lots of oil!

10583941_10153106410469848_3338334074904

Clutch thingymabob cleaned and painted. I can't get the bracket to come up nice though its no pitted. I am trying to stop myself buying an alloy DSN one haha.

10462886_10153106416424848_9008708348232

Rear brake hose on!

10518661_10153107084774848_1322561432990

10410523_10153107084914848_5058654932648

Got the copper from those to the T piece fitted as well but forgot to photo it.

Made a clutch pipe.

10568804_10153107085019848_6876544876799

I then got the hose and the clutch thing attached to that but as I have no decided what to do with a bracket I'v left it tucked down the side for now.

10521374_10153107085094848_6941796170860

Also replaced the one broken gear selector bobbin so thats on properly now.

Again today we did a lot of odd and unfinished jobs so although this update don't look like a lot we got quite a few bits done.

Then before packing up we decided to fit new tubes and tyres on my chopper and give it a whizz up and down the road he it had not been used properly since the retro rides gathering in 2012. Might bring it along to the IMM if it fits in the tro.

10255284_10153106934824848_1243033142032

Thats it for now. I am really hoping the dizzy come 2moz! Cheers.

Cheers Gents. I grabbed a bracket of my mate today so if you want the other one back for a race car I'll sort that out with you.

That oil will do for now its for the metro as well and as this engine has not been ran in time i'll change the oil after a few hundred miles to get rid of any crap that might be in there.

Anyway more car shizzle.

This all came today.

How hard can it be haha.

If it smokes don't panic that's what that oil is good at. Try & get morris lubricants classic 20/50 . I use it in all my engines .

I have been using the halfords stuff for a while now. I find it alright but I guess it never stays in the clubby long anyway. Drips out the bottom as fast as it goes in the top lol.

I also find that you get less leaks with my oil. Not even the race cars have oil leaks. So I no it's hard to believe but all 4 mini's two race Harriets & G hornet all dry no oil leaks :-D

Cheers mate.

I got one in the end and got the carb on.

I did a few bits yesterday.

Clutch bracket.

10569097_10153119680224848_9145536864633

Although I now can't find any bolts to fix it too the engine with lol.

Carb on!

10540915_10153119680459848_1967783943981

Made this little little bit of fuel pipe to keep it off the manifold. I just need to go buy a few more fuel pipe clips and thats then done.

10583813_10153119680514848_4391448373168

Mini spares still don't have my bumpers in so I grabbed a pair of mike for the time being.

10443447_10153119680169848_4269387027442

Looks so much better with them.

It's funny, here in AUS sliding windows are rare, the full aperture type you guys have are import only, but the quarter windows are on just about every mini built here since 1965 until the late 70s. I probably have a few sets kicking around, not sure about postage, the seals however epitomise hell on earth when you try to fit them.
