Right well I'v not updated this in ages!!!!!!

The cars is done and has been for about a month. The car is still at the farm at the mo as my white car is taking up all the space on the drive so I'v not even seen what its like yet. I'm hoping to get it back after rivi so I crack on with doing some work too the shell. Current list it paint engine bay, boot and anybits on the inside that need tyding up. I'll probs do the floors in hammerrite as it will be hidden under the carpets anyway.

Then the enigne plans. I think I'm going to put a new box on the pocketed 998 and paint it up so it looks tidy then drop that in for a while. I'd quite like a 1293 supercharged engine for it but cant really affored to start that right now so I think that will have to wait until college is over and I have a full time job lol.

The other things I'v done recently is take the class, window winders and locks off the doors ready for them to be reskined.

Thats about it for now but now the good weather started to turn up I'm really looking forward to cracking on with this over the summer.

Deadline Riv Run 2012. Lets see if I make it.

Thanks.

Thanks mate. I drove past where the shell is today and got a little peak of her. As stupid as this sounds I really miss her. My drive looks bare with out her.

Right well heres an update with a few bits i'v been buying for her over the last few weeks.

Landrover taillights. These will be used as sidelights/indercators.

Posted Image

Some unsual lenses hoping I can use these with the above without too much hassle.

Posted Image

Then down in Newquay I bought some P700 headlights a bulkhead plate and a smiths rev counter. Dont think I'll use the rev counter on this car but it was cheap!

Posted Image

I also bought some smiths gauges. These were a bargain at only £1 each!

Posted Image

Thats about it for now! I'm gonna arange to get the car back soon as now the good weathers here I want to crack on with getting it ready for paint.

Thanks for reading!

Right well not updated this in a while. The car is still at my mates farm. I cant get it back yet as we are gonna get the drive way redone so we have room for all 3 cars. Anyway as the weather was bad today I couldn't get the painting done too my other car that I wanted. So instead of wasting the day I decided to remove all the locks off the new doors (as I could do this inside while watching Dave) I have for this car ready to get the doors re-skinned. This went smoothy which was nice. I then went to take the door hinges off. This didn't go so well. The last person that touched these hinges didn't have the correct too by the looks of thing so a few of the screw are fudged so next task is work out a way of remove these. I did manage to get one hinge off though so not completely defeated their.

Anyway heres my pics. Their not great lol.

Posted Image

One hinge removed. Rust isnt too bad. If the weathers good 2moz I'll go over it with a wire brush.

Posted Image

2 of the fudged screws.

Posted Image

If anyone has an idea on how I can remove those I'd love to hear from you!

O and a bit off topic on the mini builder thing I mate of of how I hope the car will look when she's finished.

Posted Image

Thats about it really. Thanks.

Yea I'm trying to get the hinges off the door.

Urrm I'm going to do it myself. The door skins are about £60 each. Mine were just under as I get a discount from MiniSpeed. These were gen door skins. I really do not recommend getting the pattern one. I have had them on both my minis and they just dont fit properly.

panelbeaterpeter did a really good guide on how to reskin a mini door.

http://www.theminifo...showtopic=68079

So I'm just gonna follow that though and have a crack at it and see how I get on. Theirs only one way I'm gonna learn and thats by trying it.

Thanks.
