I dunno if she will be a daily to be honest. I'd like too use her as much as possible but it really depends on what job I have and where I'm living at the time.

Yea you can take the old engine and the spare gear box at the price me agreed on. I just need the space now to be honest. If theirs any other bits your in need of let me know as well as I'm selling loads of stuff. I need space and some money to build up some savings.

Its better to find it now rather than later. Boot floors are not difficult to change its just the removing and cleaning up that's a pain.

Yea I am glad I found it. Its just a pain. I'll get the GF's dad on the case. I'm sure he will know what to do. I may even have ago at doing some of the welding myself. Gonna ask the rents for the panels for xmas.

If you go for the complete floor replacement panel then get the one with the battery box already installed. You can easily do it with the car supported on axle stands.

Yea I think I'll crack on and order one of these straight after xmas. I'v found a few other spots that need welding today as well so these will also all get sorted.

The bitumen soundproofing is a ******* to remove, isn't it!!!

I did it in around 3 days, but it was the hottest day of Autumn at the time, so it left a lot of residue.

Now I'm trying to get rid of the residue :P Plus, I've peeled the surface of the metal back in some places with the chisel, which'll need sanding.

This is going well though; can't wait to see the finished product!!

Right update for today.

Front subframe was dropped to start with.

Posted Image

Then more of the sound proofing was hammered off. This is almost finished now with only a small bit on the passenger side left to do. Was worth doing this though as their were a few surprises under neither.

On the seat on the passenger side.

Posted Image

and on the seat on the drivers side.

These can both me patched with ease though I'm hoping.

I also stripped out the rear half of the wiring loom, the pedal box, door handle latch things and pretty much any other part that would come off. So I now have a completely bare shell. Which can only mean I'm half way though! As things can only now go back on the car!

Any with my very light bare shell. I lifted it off the pallet. ( I say I but my dad brother and girl friend did assist haha) and placed it on my drive so I could move the pallet on the gravel.

So the cars now sat where she will be until she's back on the road. Apart from her trip to the painters.

Today I also found someone to shot blast the subframes, which will be done in the new year. So next step is to get the few bits of welding done and get her painted and sort out what I'm doing with the new engine. I think I need to start a shopping list of bits I need to buy next.

Thats all folks!

Small update for today.

It took long enough but now all the soundproofing crap is off the floor, I also stripped off the hubs and drive shafts and what not off the front subframe. Leaving me with an almost bare subframe. Just need to get the rubber cone out but I need the tool!

Posted Image

Once the cones out it can go to be shot blasted. Next I thought I better get some bits ready to go back on it. So I decided to start cleaning up some hubs.

I went over then with a screwdriver to remove most the crap and then soaked then in Jizer.

Posted Image

Next task is to wire bush them down after they have soaked for a while then paint then as well as fitting new bearings and ball joints. I also need to find a good pair of drive shafts and get them cleaned up too.

Thats about it. I said it was a small update.

The engine is now in my garage so I can start getting it sorted. Still not really sure on the final spec. I need to have a chat with someone who knows what their talking about. Rough plan is 1293 with 278 cam and a stage 3 head. I'v found a place not far from me to do all the work that are highly recommended. They should be able to bore the block out and do all the skimming, the work on the head and regrind the crank. I'll sort some pics out off all the engine soon. Thats about it for now. Merry Christmas everyone!

Right! I seemed to have found some motivation again! I think it was from trying to talk Ross into coming to newquay last night. Anyway. I'm kinda stuck at a dead end as I'm not sure what to do next. I have taken everything apart and really have no idea where to start with putting it back together haha!

I bought these today.

Posted Image

A set of 4 new rubber cones. My mate bought them but never used them so I got them for a good price. I also have a stripped subframe that just needs shot blasting. I have also agreed to buy some tie bars and bottom arms of someone. So all I need is some cooper s brakes and some shocks and the suspension is complete. So I think I may start with building up a subframe so I can start to get the shell rolling again. I also need to find someone to weld the last few bits of the shell so I can send it off for painting. Also due to an issue with work I now have alot more spare time to get bits done so hopefully with evenings starting to get lighter and warmer we should see some progress yay!
