Good to see you working on it, i know its not much fun this time of year. I am at the same stage as you by the looks of it. What are your plans for it now?

Urrm well. I want it painted the same colour and then slammed on some cool 10" wheels. I'm gonna go for a smooth look to the body so I wont have any badges or a number plate light on the boot. Then my golf headlights with the sidelights down in the indicators and inno tash round a chopped down cooper grill. I would also really like some inno door glass with the quarter lights. Then I was gonna go for bucket seats but think I may just get the old ones retrimmed with a splash of tartan. I always change my mind or come up with new idea though so I guess we shall just see what happens!

O and the engine will probably be a 1293 with a cam of some sort and a stage 3 head.

Right. Time I updated this then!

I dropped the 2 mini 30 doors I had off to be reskinned. I mate of mine is doing them for £20 a door which I didn't think was too bad at all! So I should be able to pick them up sometime next week.

I then thought I'd attack the bulk head.

I had started to wire brush this last year before I lost my motivation. I then just ended up leaving it so of corse it just went rusty.

Posted Image

So I spent the best part of 2 hours getting rid of as much of that as possible. I then painted over it all in some of that rust eating stuff.

Posted Image

Also seeing as I had painted the front end myself with rattle cans in about 20 mins when I first got it done it was think it a few places and slight surface rust was coming though. So I rubbed all that off with wet and dry and gave it a coat of primer.

Posted Image

I need to give the bulk head a second coat 2moz if the weathers good. I also need to get some stone chip and do the floors. So thats the next step.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers. Yea well now the snow seems to have gone and the evenings are getting lighter and that I seem to have got the mini bug back again I should really crack on with it over the summer. I want to get the shell solid and rolling then I can get it off to be painted. Then I'll make a start on the engine..

Urrm well I have a 1275 a+ engine in the garage that I was given. So that will go in it. Not 100% sure on spec but I don like the idea of a 1293.
