Sorry I hadn't read the other thread and didn't realise that the claim was being made on the thirdparty and not being paid out/inspected by the policy holders insurance company and claimed back.

Bonnie was inspected by my insurance company yesterday, and subsequently written off. I am insured fully comprehensive and ALL costs and claims are being made by my insurers to the other drivers insurance company. It was his fault. My insurance company said they will get a "market value" from Glasses Guide and Autotrader .

Don't take their first offer!
See if you can get the car back plus a nominal amount, and hopefully the amount will be enough for you to have her repaired!

to be honest to replace that car is 3k. The problem is to go and buy a car thats the same as yours, with wheels etc and dealers know how much cars are worth to sell to a punter. Its difficult but of course remember the clause in insurance about if an accident aint your fault they have a liabilty to put the vehicle into pre accident condition regardless of cost. Normally this gets you a resonable pay out for your car.
