Heya, belgian mini owner here.

i own a mg metro engine code 12H 996 AA. it has a HIF 44 carburator and elektronic ignition. im planning to rebuild this engine and maybe "tune" it a little.

does anyone here got experience about "little" tuning this engines? is it worth to change the single HIF44 to 2x 1.5" carbs? lightened flywheel? 1.5 ratio roller rockers ???

im also planning to change it to straight cut drop gears. what dropgears would be the best for it? ( i luv the sound :() )

luv to hear it what your experience are.....

many thanx.

definitely twin carbs for low end torque, but if you do a lot of motorway driving rather than street racing, dont bother with the lightened flywheel in my opinion, I have a high spec 1380 cc with twin 1.5 HS4's, balanced and bladed crank and balanced flywheel (not lightened) and a 286 cam, and it holds its speed on the motorway inclines, with a lightened flywheel i think i would lose out on the inclines a bit.

If you are doing a "little" tuning I would keep the HIF 44.

Spend the money on the head, cam and balancing
