I have a Australian Mini Deluxe. It was sold as a 1965, but others have said that it could be a '66 or '67. I was looking to get a definative answer. The compliance plate states:
YMA2S2
Body number 1903*
Engine Number 9YA/TA/H2002*

Thanks in advance,
James.

We do have a few Aussie members, but your topic could slip from the radar before they see it. It might be an idea to search google with site:theminiforum.co.uk in the string for "Australia" and any other likely antipodean keywords. You could then pm any Aussies you find.

There are also a fair few parts suppliers in Oz (another google) who might be able to look up your engine & chassis numbers.

Try the guy mentioned in post no.7 here:
http://forum.minicoo...ight=australian

the NZ authority on Aussie S's would have to be Cam Luke, [email protected] . He has a personally compiled register of many Coopers imported and currently being used in NZ and is a walking encyclopaedia on the subject. Dates, chassis numbers, production, colours, owners, ya de ya. A top bloke as well? If you want to talk Aussie S's-he;s your man.

Thanks for all the information. My biggest problem is that most of the items mentioned to carbon date the car were either removed or changed sometime during its life. The only thing where I may have a chance is with the headlight dim switch.
Cheers,
James.
