It’s been a while since the last post and here are some of the products that have been made recently.
This is a large titanium (grade5) washer for the rear trunnion on the rear subframe weighing in at a featherlight 6.8grammes
Central hole is 11.43mm or 7/16" and the washer 2.5mm thick.
Outside diameter is 35mm wide

Below is a 1/4"unf nyloc nut. It's been a bit of a run around with the nyloc nuts, because the first set of nylocs pushed the nylon out when I tested them, so they went back and were remade properly. The trouble is the 3/8" and 7/16" nylocs that came back were now in UNC thread which is no good on the Mini.
The 1/4"unf nylocs are fine though so they're on sale. They're a good idea to fit to the seat hoops under the car because they're immune to road salt.

This is a titanium version of the bulkhead plate in the engine bay. Grade 2 titanium doesn't brush up very shiny which is a shame but it's corrosion proof and is 21grammes lighter than the rusty steel version and looks very nice with 4 titanium unf bolts. The rusty bolts to get the old steel one out of my car were a nightmare to get undone.

These titanium spring washers are nice. They save a couple of grammes over steel but are very shiny. I only ordered 20 of each though.

I had 200 countersunk door hinge screws made in titanium and they're very nice, strong and light but I need to test the phillips cross at the top because the factory did the cross a bit smaller than the standard Mini screw. That said, the cross on the standard Mini screw is massive and these titanium screws fitted fine to my Mini. I'll test one to destruction to make sure they can take being removed and tightened a lot.
I found the standard steel screws are a pain to get out of the Mini. I had to drill and use an 'easy out' tool on half of them.

Below is an alternator bracket replicated in grade 2 titanium. It's a bit lighter but it's 4mm thick titanium instead of the standard 3mm steel.

I placed an order today for a load more titanium Mini fasteners with the idea that in the end all Mini fasteners will be replicated in titanium. I think I've modelled around half the Mini bolts now. I've put a repeat order of 5/16"unc18 by 1" flanged bolts because they sold out in a week. So 200 of those will be coming. The order will probably be about 6 weeks.
If you're interested you can see developments on the Titan Classics blog. Idea's, Solid Works drawings, stress analysis, that sort of thing.
Cheers for looking and hope you like.
