I wish to "hide" me stereo behing a small glove box. do to this I need to make a hole for the back of the stereo to stick out of. (180 x 50 mm)
I have the hole where the old speedo use to be (Was thinking I would blank off the old speedo hole when I do it.) I need stereo to the side of this. Will removing more out of the bulkhead cause any problems??

Theres probably better ways to hide the stereo.

I've seen people use a remote controlled head unit and then fit it under the rear seats. They then just use the remote to control it.

had a mate that did that and it was always fun watching him struggle with adjusting the bass etc!! drove him batty....

Anyway I dont mind putting a hole in the back. I just wish to know if I would be doing something to affect the strength of the car

A standard DIN sized head unit should fit, it just needs to sit at a slight angle. I made a MDF plate and stuffed it in ....... a little tight, but it fit. I like having it hidden.

EDIT: this is in a MKI L/H drive, installed in left side glovebox, so no fresh air hose behind it.
