I asked about this a while back, someone pointed me in the direction of this company:Banded Steels

I haven't bought them yet but if you do can you write on here how much and what they're like?

MS.

is banded wheels a VW thing ?

don't remember seeing any VW's with banded wheels at the shows i went to last year

the VW scene seems more hung up with trying to fit Porsche bits

the only VW i have seen with anything like banded wheels is my camper

I have seen quite a few VW with banded steels/banneded space savers. not the old stuff tho maby the odd beetle.

Think theres a few newer golfs that have them call it euro look or something.

Yea as above banded steels is quite popular with the EURO look. Something I'm really quite interested in doing to a mini at some point.

yea, they call it euro look. You tend to see it done to golfs and polo's.

Aye Bungle I don't think he means the air cooled scene, more things like golfs, polo's jetta's etc.

12" banded steels are where it's at. Watch this space :(

Depends who does it, bandedsteels.com charge £330 a set.. find a local engineering firm and it will likely be cheaper.

I think the issues is finding somewhere that can fit the tyres though. (depending on what size you want to go to)

Yes I think sensible banding, 6" or 7" is easy enough to find tyres and fitters for, but then again the boys who fit 8" plus are after a bit of stretch so tyres that don't fit are exactly what they want :P

I am both intrigued and dubious. It sounds to good to be true! great if it is! Do you have a link? Looking at some of his work would be great if you know any links to peoples "threads" that have got pictures of work he has done? Thanks in advance!
