I like to think Taffy has just come over the top of the mountain to find this road to drive in his mini today.

Where are these roads located? Me and a friend are thinking of touring round europe in our minis, hope we can make this part of our route!

Yes, that's the Stelvio. I've been over it rallying in a Mini. Even more awesome is the Passo di Gavia which is the other side of the same mountain range. It used to be poorly surfaced and have absolutely huge unfenced drops of around 1000 ft. Very exciting when going downhill on it at maximum speed!
Fantastic roads.

No, that will test your pants, believe me, been there and the landscape alone is scary..

Its open in the spring/summer only and very hard to get there and find no traffic, people are used to go up and down the road with almost anything that has wheels..

I have driven over the Stelvio too. A fantastic road road.  You do begin to get the ump with all those hairpin bends, 39 of them in all and then 48 on the Swiss side on the way down.

What really tests your pants is when the fog rolls in!   I nearly dropped my potful on the San Bernandino Pass, i thought the rain was bad enough
