After getting a split exhaust system, i want to drop my reg plate between the tips so a smoothened boot would look nicer than a normal one with the gap for the reg plate though i don't know much about about converting from regular steel to smoothened fibreglass.
Could anyone help with:
Whats the difference between single and double skinned bootlids?
How would i fit the bootlid as many do not have moulded possitions for exterior brackets?

have to say, i love the minis with the split exhaust and smooth boot lid looks the bogs dollocks!
from looking into it, you want a double skin boot as the single wont sealt properly, another idea is you might be able to bond a single skin boot lid onto the metal framing of the standard bootlid ? just an idea - could be cheaper
for the brackets, you could drill the mounting points to mount to the exsiting brackets you already have or come up with some sort of design to have internal hinges, i cant remember what springs to mind to use apologies, but something along the line like the bonnet hinges... you need that arch to pass over the rear panel if that makes sense....
hope this helps.
Andrew.

Sorry for slow feedback
Thanks Andrew for the help, going to go for the cheaper option with the single skin once i get the welding done on the floor
h4wx1e your mini looks sweet! That rear end is what i want but my split system is 2 3" exits, i recently learnt your ment to have lights on your rear reg, how have you gotten around that or have you just left the light off?
Thanks again!
