
Double Din

hi am new to the mini forum and am doing up my mini inside and outside i have a 1992 rover mini cooper am going to buy a double din dvd/cd player so a was just wondering if it would fit into the center of the dashboard without it hitting the bulkhead cheer

Depends how deep it is?
if if its standard depth it should be ok,

i think it is 165mm deep

ive been told double din stereos dont fit into standard mini dashes due to the slope of the bulk head behind the dash,
as said best to measure what volume you have due to double din stereos do take up a lot of space. a way to get around this is maybe fitting a step on the dashboard that allows the stereo to sit out further than usual allowing for space in the back to accomodate wires etc.

You could always buy a centre console, with a plain front.
Cut the hole, and mount it in there

yea thats what im doing getting the dash custom made from custom console's on ebay its a "one off" they say lol
