It cost around £35 to fill up a 7 Gal tank.
Does this sound right to anyone? It is a Rover mini 35 1275.
Edit - Wow, just seen the major typo on the title. Sorry folks.

I have got roughly 55.1 miles out of half a tank.

Unless my maths is very wrong then 55.1 miles/3.5 gallons = 15.74 miles per gallon.... which isn't at all good!!
Is it actually half a tank though, or are you relying on the notoriously inaccurate mini fuel gauge to tell you where "half" is. According to my gauge, my mini uses the 1st quarter of a tank to do about 130 miles then burns through the remaining 3/4 over the next 50 or so!! Better to fill it up to the top, then take the mileometer reading, then fill it up to the top again after a set amount of miles (say 100 to make the maths easy) & then calculate exactly how many litres you have used and your actual MPG!

Do a propr consumption test. Brim fill it and note the mileage. Drive it for a while until it reads nearly empty, then brim it again. Then you can measure the actual consumption. Mini gauges are so inaccurate.

Well no, you don't have to drive it until nearly empty at all. All that matters is that you brim fill it the first time & take note of the milage then brim fill it again at some point on that tank of fuel, taking note of the new mileage, along with the amount of fuel needed to brim fill it again. It doesn't matter if you have used one gallon or seven as you are calculating miles per gallon, not miles per tank!(& if you really want to know the miles per tank you just multiply the MPG by seven!!....)
