Seen a few minis now with front window heaters, would be very useful because in this weather as mine's always steaming up. Added to the (brilliant :S ) heater I would like to fit one.

Any pointers?

Do you mean a new windscreen with the microfilament heating strips built in?

If there is an alternative such as this, I would be interested.

I did not realise it was a heated screen in itself when I saw the pics...

The items at the bottom are the wiring kits for the screens.

Blimey, Moss want a lot. Try here. or have a Google, quite a few companies supply them.
In answer to your questions:
They are a new windscreen and not a stick on heater element.
They need to be wired with a heavy duty relay and fuse (if I remember correctly they draw 30 or so amps).
Most people wire them with a timed relay which switches the heavy duty relay. This will automatically turn the screen off after a period of time.

Stick on elements may NOT be used on a front screen. You might get away with the old Works type open bar heater thing mounted at the bottom but nothing that covers the screen will be acceptable at the MOT.
