as the title says i am thinking of hiring a car at the end of feb when me and the missus come over for a visit to the uk we will be landing at Heathrow and spending a couple of days there and figure that we can manage in london without a car but then on the 20th or the 21st we want to travel up to Nottingham to my parents and be there for a few days and return to London on the 26th

There will be only the 2 of us so we don't need a massive SUV but not a tiny smart car either

anyone that can suggest a cheap company for us???

get the train from london to nottingham could be an option
there's also 'national express' busses but I wouldn't recomend them

I've always just gone through the major ones and found the cheapest. If you book online early enough you usually get pretty good deals.

I'll lend you my mini for a small fee
didn't realise you needed a car for around Nottingham I assumed you'd use your parent's car or somethin
just google 'heathrow car hire'
avis and europcar are ones that stick in mind

i would love to drive around notts in a mini but as its the first time the misses will have been to the uk i think she will be bricking herself nervous in such a small car
