Hi
I have mounted my gearbox to my engine, and can see in the Haynes manual that the torque setting should be is 8Nm for all of the bolts and two nuts at the rear.
I dont have a torque rench that can measure as low as 8Nm. Instead, I have given each fixing one firm lever (about 3 flats) with the spanner after the spring washers were compressed. I hope I havn't over-torqued them.
How critical is the torque setting for these? If it is critical, where can i get a torque wrench that measeures such low torque settings?
Thanks
John

8nm is only really hand tight with a spanner anyways. As long as your not using a long bar on them and over tightening them that way, it should all be fine.

I've never torqued them up with a torque wrench and never had a problem. Just 'nip 'em up tight' and it'll be fine.
